No one should have to wait for help when life feels heavy.

Chances are, you know someone struggling with their mental wellbeing. They may have trouble focusing at school, managing family life, or finding and keeping a good job.

1 in 5 Canadians ages 12+ said they needed help with their mental health in the past year.

But 45% of those struggling felt their needs were unmet or only partially met.

United Way East Ontario works with frontline mental health services across Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark County, and Renfrew County to ensure people have access to timely, affordable, culturally-appropriate care. These services are led by the communities they serve, ensuring they reflect the diverse experiences of those in need.

When someone’s mental health is compromised,
there's a ripple effect.

It can impact their ability to work, live independently, or just get through the day. It can affect their relationships—the people close to them.

This Giving Tuesday, let’s make the match for mental health and make an even bigger difference.

Every donation goes towards
community-based mental health services

What does that mean? Mental health supports as part of seniors’ day programs, after-school homework clubs, drop-in centres for homeless youth, and more. These types of programs are only possible because of United Way and our partners. And they provide vital mental health resources for people who might not seek help out elsewhere.

Together, we can make sure support is always there for people in need, whether that’s seniors feeling isolated, kids shutting down in class, or caregivers getting burned out.
