What kind of person is Lesia Gilbert?

The Community Builders column on Apartment 613 shares the stories of every Community Builder recognized by United Way Ottawa.

In this column, you’ll see the stories of every day Ottawans who take the time to extend a helping hand, break down stereotypes and barriers, and those who push for a better city by showing us the true meaning of compassion for others.

Do you know someone who deserves a Community Builder award? You can nominate them.

One of her greatest achievements? Distributing thousands of toys to children in need around the city through her team’s Toy Mountain Christmas campaign.

It was fitting then, in the lead up to the holidays that she be honoured for her contribution.

So as the snow fell on November 5, Lesia gathered with her fellow RSCA members to celebrate achievements and look forward to the next project. During the cozy dinner, Lesia was awarded a United Way Community Builder Award.
