Lake 88.1’s In Focus host Bob Perreault spoke with United Way East Ontario’s Regional Director, Elle Halladay, and Ramsay Hart, Executive Director of The Table Community Food Centre on how the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF) has helped adapt programs and services coming out of the pandemic.

The CSRF—which was administered by United Way—helps The Table adjust and realign services like community meals, which brings people together to eat and decreases isolation. During the pandemic, The Table provided food deliveries which served members of the community facing barriers like access to transportation, highlighting the need to adapt programs which the CSRF helps to streamline.

In the darkest times, it’s the power of community that will light the way.

Let’s tackle our toughest social issues together. Poverty. Homelessness. Mental health. Social isolation. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but you can move the needle on all of them at once with a donation to United Way.
