Heather Dobson

Chief People Officer

Heather Dobson is the Chief People Officer at United Way East Ontario, where she leads the organization’s people and culture strategy, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and equity, diversity, and inclusion. In addition, she oversees the organization’s internal communications, facilities and corporate planning, and policy frameworks. She is committed to ensuring that all team members have the resources, skills, and support to grow in their careers and contribute to the impact of the organization.  

After starting her career as a youth counsellor with adolescents, she transitioned to human resources. Today, she brings us more than 25 years of experience in people and culture with expertise from private, public, and nonprofit sectors, in both local and provincial organizations.  She has her Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) designation, is a Certified Change Management Practitioner, and possesses an Executive Conflict Resolution Certification, in addition to Executive Education from Queen’s University and the University of Windsor.

Heather has been with United Way East Ontario since 2020, where she continues to play a key role in bringing out the best in our team to achieve the organization’s mission.

Growing up facing financial barriers and as a person living with disabilities, Heather is passionate about removing obstacles and ensuring equitable access to opportunities for all.
