Summer Student Opportunity- Digital Marketing Officer
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Please Note: This position is partially funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply you must be:

This role is based in Ottawa, but serves the region of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew Counties. This position is a hybrid position with two days a week expected onsite.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
United Way East Ontario has an agency-style Marketing and Communications department that offers an amazing summer development experience for a young professional interested in using their skills to make local impact. We are currently working in a hybrid office setting using a variety of virtual engagement and digital project management tools.
The Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for supporting projects involved with some or all of the following:
- Support the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies.
- Assist in email marketing including coordinating newsletters and other direction outreach. This includes project management as well as coding the emails, coordinating testing and final deployment.
- Program digital ads on various platforms and support social media marketing under the director of the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing.
- Support monthly reporting and any campaign reporting with the required results from digital marketing channels.
Qualifications:
- Preferred post–secondary degree or diploma in Digital Marketing or General Marketing or a related area.
- 2+ years of experience in digital marketing through school projects or personal engagement.
- Some project management experience would be an asset.
Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong judgment, discretion and critical thinking skills that align with the objectives of United Way East Ontario.
- Demonstrated technical ability and understanding of email marketing and digital advertising.
- Excellent project and time management skills leading to an ability to balance and manage competing interests.
- Flexibility, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
- Strong listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Criminal and credit check required.
