Summer Youth Opportunity-Resource Development Campaign Officer
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Please Note: This position is partially funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply you must be:

This role is based in Ottawa, but serves the region of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew Counties. This position is a hybrid position with two days a week expected onsite.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
United Way East Ontario has a Resource Development department committed to fostering and enhancing connections with donors and supporters to bring them closer to the impact work of United Way East Ontario. We are currently working in a hybrid office setting using a variety of virtual engagement and digital project management tools.
The Resource Development Campaign, Officer will be responsible for supporting projects involved with some or all of the following:
- Support the development and implementation of campaign engagement strategies to cultivate relationships with existing donors, workplace campaign volunteers and identify potential new supporters.
- Support donor stewardship opportunities, through thank you notes, calls or messages.
- Collaborate with the other internal departments to create compelling campaign materials, including a donor/volunteer touchpoint calendar, emails, and promotional materials.
- Maintain and update records and data in the CRM system.
Coordinate volunteer training and recognition efforts, engagement activities and communications that bring external supporters closer to United Way’s work.
Qualifications:
- Preferred post–secondary degree or diploma in Business, Administration, Customer Service, Nonprofit Management, Social Services/Sciences or related area.
- 2+ years of project management or customer-service related experience, with a demonstrated talent for planning and executing activities and tactics (this includes student experience).
- Some customer service or office experience would be an asset.

- Strong judgment, discretion and critical thinking skills that align with the objectives of United Way East Ontario.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex information to easy-to-understand content.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
- Excellent project and time management skills leading to an ability to balance and manage competing interests.
- Experience with editing, proofreading and factchecking.
- Writing, editing in a variety of formats.
- Flexibility, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
- Proactive research practices to stay abreast of emerging issues and topics of interest to United Way.
- Strong listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Some working knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft 365 Suite programs.
