Women United Community Action Grant

If you have any questions, please contact agencyinfo@unitedwayeo.ca.

Women United is proud to fund new and innovative initiatives that contribute to empowering women in our communities. Our community action grants support community groups and residents’ associations to:

  • Build strong, healthy, safe communities for everyone

  • Create innovative engaging opportunities for women to connect and solve issues facing their communities

  • Inspire women leadership

Community groups and residents’ associations that are working to improve their community may apply for up to $3,000 in funding for programs, activities, and events.

Note: As of the 2025 Call for Proposals, non-profit organizations who are not registered charities may apply for funding directly from UWEO and do not require a sponsor if they meet the other criteria outlined below. Non-profits which are not a registered charity may only receive a maximum of $50,000 annually. If a non-profit’s funding from UWEO is larger than $50,000 annually, a charitable sponsor will be required. We recommend Ottawa based community groups to reach out to their respective Community Health/Resource Centres, or Community Houses to sponsor projects. Groups in Lanark, Prescott-Russell and Renfrew counties can reach out to a registered charity in their area for sponsorship.
