“The power of numbers:” Volunteers take action to make a difference

< 1 MIN READ

A few times a year, United Way, in partnership with Ottawa Community Housing, hosts Community Action Days. These day-long events connect volunteers from Ottawa workplaces with the chance to make our city a better place for everyone.

Past Community Action Days have brought volunteers to Ottawa Community Housing neighbourhoods to clear brush, paint fences and walls, plant gardens, and much more.

Community Action Days are a win for everyone involved: They improve Ottawa Community Housing tenants’ homes, build community pride, and volunteers feel good about making tangible contributions to our city. These volunteer events are one of the many ways United Way Ottawa works to build a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

“It’s really all about the power of numbers. We’re able to do more in one day today than we would be able to in weeks or longer,”

This holiday season, let’s tackle our toughest social issues together.

Poverty. Homelessness. Mental health. Social isolation. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but you can move the needle on all of them at once with a donation to United Way.

Donate by December 31st, receive a tax credit and your gift will be matched by TD.*
