Invest in women:
5 ways to support women and girls this International Women's Day
Join us in making a difference
We’re inviting you to join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day. Women United’s mission is clear: to uplift and support women by fostering leadership, resilience, and community strength. Have you ever wondered how you can support women’s rights? Small actions can lead to significant impacts, and your efforts will contribute directly to empowering women and girls across our region.
The 2024 International Women’s Day theme shared by the UN and the Government of Canada is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”. When we invest in women, we contribute to a more equitable and empowered future for women and girls. Whether it’s through financial support, digital advocacy, recognition, or choosing to shop consciously, every effort counts.
Five ways you can support women and girls today, and year-round
Join Women United and BMO will match your membership◆
One of the most direct ways to invest in women is to become a Women United member. Join a community of like-minded individuals who leverage their time, talents, and funds to empower women in our communities to build strong, independent lives.
By donating annually, you will be addressing gender-based violence, empowering women in leadership, supporting young mothers and their children, and building an equitable economic recovery.
Become a member before March 31 and your membership will be matched by BMO, doubling your impact.
While we have made immense progress, we need your help to keep going.
Share a message on social and Sororal will donate $10*
From March 1 to 10, aligned with the UN’s theme: Invest in Women, we are encouraging women across our communities to recognize and appreciate those who have invested in them, be it through mentorship, friendship, or championship.
Make a post on social media and give a shout out to a woman who has invested in you—make sure to also tag @UnitedWayEO. For every tag, Sororal will donate $10 to help Women United invest in women and girls across our region.
