Become a United Way East Ontario member for 2019/2020

A membership structure was approved at United Way’s Annual General Meeting in June 2014 as part of our efforts to better involve, reflect and serve our community. Under the amended by-law, membership is available to individuals who support the purposes of United Way East Ontario and who have applied for and have been admitted into membership in accordance with United Way’s operating policies.

United Way donors are important to us. Although one might be a strong supporter through donations, a person cannot become a member of United Way unless they have applied for and have been admitted into membership.

Our members are individuals from all walks of life, from every corner of the region, united in a commitment to building a stronger communities.

Members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting to elect members of our Board of Directors and decide other special business. By coming together in a common cause, we are building a better future for the thousands of people we serve.

You will be notified when your membership is approved by our Board of Directors. Membership is for one year, based on United Way’s fiscal year of April 1 to March 31. Applications are approved by the Board of Directors prior to the start of each fiscal year.

The application period is now closed for the April 2019 to March 2020 membership year. Applications received prior to the closing on Feb. 1, 2019, will be submitted to the Board for approval by the end of March, 2019, and we will notify members once approved.
