
We are looking for our new President and Chief Executive Officer
Headquartered in Ottawa, United Way East Ontario is a non-profit organization committed to improving lives and creating opportunities for people in Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark County, and Renfrew County. The United Way plays a crucial role in addressing social issues and fostering community well-being by bringing together people and resources to build strong, healthy, and safe communities for all.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will bring dynamic and inclusive leadership to bear in setting the future direction for the organization. With a focus on relationship building and collaboration, you will inspire and propel impact with a network of smart, passionate, and engaged donors, staff, and partners to get to the root of these local issues and support long-term solutions. They will drive fundraising and revenue diversification, grow institutional strength and resilience, and work with stakeholders and community partners to create impact on the communities they serve. The CEO will provide empowering and inclusive leadership to a staff of 70 in enhancing a culture of excellence and will ensure United Way East Ontario is a valued and integrated member of the broader United Way movement. They will drive operational and business efficiencies and performance while undertaking a critical and future-focused assessment of the way United Way operates. A visible leader in the community, the CEO is the face of United Way East Ontario and represents the organization at various events and key community tables, while engaging with government and community leaders to advocate for critical issues.
As an ideal candidate, you are an exceptional, passionate leader who will lead the vision, strategy, and oversee the operations. You have strong business acumen and a history of providing visionary, empathetic and inclusive leadership at the executive level. You understand the value of United Way East Ontario and have proven experience in executing organizational growth and leading successful nonprofits or related entities. You excel in relationship management and collaboration, working effectively with boards and diverse groups of people in both urban and rural settings. You are results-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and possess excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills. Fluency in both official languages would be a significant asset.
