Senior Manager, GCWCC
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
This role plays a leading part in portfolio management within the GCWCC as well as growing and strengthening United Way’s presence within the GCWCC (Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign).
This position provides leadership within the GCWCC team, collaborating closely with the Director, GCWCC and organizationally to drive targeted strategies across the GCWCC Channel and Resource Development. This role will support the operations, including identification and implementation of key strategies, workflow, reporting and improvement within the GCWCC channel.
The Senior Manager, GCWCC is a key liaison role between senior management and interdepartmentally, coordinating requirements for the GCWCC Channel to ensure the needs of donors and department volunteers. This role will ensure that UWEOs (United Way East Ontario) engagement opportunities are positioned where appropriate and that the tools required for campaign execution are supported organizationally
This position is a hybrid position with two days a week onsite.
Qualifications:
Education
- University or College graduate with a concentration in business, marketing, or related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous upgrading of skills.
- 5-7 years of experience in progressively senior fundraising or business development/sales role where it relates to convincing donors or prospects to support an organization’s work or products.
- 3-5 years demonstrated record of accomplishment in setting targets and meeting fundraising or business development goals, while strengthening an organization’s reputation and reach
- Experience supervising, leading, and motivating a team.
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset.
- Experience working with or in government departments is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of donor relation principles.
- Bilingualism (French and English) a strong asset.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, with knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to independently manage multiple projects and demands, while maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, perseverance, and integrity.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to inclusive practices and leadership
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Strong interpersonal effectiveness, including experience and comfort relating to senior leaders and decision-makers, and an ability to work in a team setting.
- The ability to interact with senior volunteers, senior management, donors, and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and not afraid to take on new challenges.
- Solutions oriented with customer service orientation and the ability to proactively identify and manage challenges.
- Confident in social settings, with a professional public demeanor that inspires trust both in the person and in United Way East Ontario,
- The ability to develop, manage, and maintain relationships with GCWCC’s current and potential donors including a wide range of individuals, high profile leaders, and departments.
- The ability to manage, motivate and support direct reports that may include employees and volunteers.
- The ability to work with UWEO colleagues in developing, executing, and measuring fundraising activities.
- The ability to think strategically and connect fundraising with UWEO’s outreach activities.
- Valid Driver’s license and vehicle required.
