Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Manager, Fundraising & Philanthropy, is responsible for increasing revenue results by supporting fundraising engagement activities and initiatives that drive philanthropic contributions. This role focuses on building and strengthening relationships with workplace campaign partners, individual donors, volunteers, and partnership stakeholders to align with the organization’s mission, meet revenue targets and achieve community impact goals.

Within the fundraising team, this position will manage key employee giving campaigns, identify and prioritize market opportunities and support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising strategies.  The Manager will contribute to efforts that enhance corporate and individual giving, including partnerships that support corporate social responsibility and philanthropy programs. A focus on prospecting is also required.

Additionally, the Manager will help support campaign volunteers to maximize donor engagement and revenue generation within assigned portfolios. This position plays a key role within the resource development team, actively contributing to setting and achieving fundraising targets.

This hybrid position is based in Ottawa and serves the regions of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew counties. You are expected to work from the office two days per week.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • A University degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • A minimum of two years of fundraising experience and/or focused sales experience with an emphasis on building customer relationships; applied consultative selling techniques and demonstrated success with effective listening skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Familiarity with project management and workflow are considered assets.
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and professional development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills, specifically the ability to manage through influence.
  • Proven fundraising experience, results oriented consultative selling skills
  • Advanced relationship management and networking skills – strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to inclusive practices and leadership
  • Superior tact and diplomacy – with internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior communication skills – verbal and written. Ability to organize and present information, views and concepts in a concise and understandable format to a variety of key stakeholders and audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Client service focused – can assess stakeholder needs modify programs to meet to meet those needs in a timely manner
  • Ability to problem solve and to respond effectively and calmly in difficult situations
  • Ability to persuade others and close sales opportunities
  • Ability to mobilize others, including volunteers and stakeholders, to deliver and implement strategies, tactics and action plans.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, perseverance and integrity
  • Proven organizational and facilitation skills, experience in project management an asset.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, database/CRM and presentation software, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English and French is preferred
  • Use of a personal vehicle is required for this role.
