Wilson Lo

Councillor, Ward 24, Barrhaven East

Wilson Lo grew up understanding the importance of community involvement and charitable giving. Throughout high school, university, and employed life he has donated countless hours of time for causes that contribute to improving other people’s lives.

Wilson grew up in Markham, Ontario, and moved to Ottawa in 2009 to attend Carleton University’s journalism program. He ultimately chose a career in transit and communications prior to being elected as the Councillor for Ward 24, Barrhaven East. Wilson enjoys combining his desire for knowledge sharing and storytelling with his work, and he believes it’s one of the best ways to foster community and understanding.

Previous to City Council, Wilson worked as a bus operator for OC Transpo until 2020, when he moved on to a communications role at the agency. He was elected in 2022 and currently serves as Barrhaven East’s first Councillor as well as Ottawa’s first Canadian-Chinese City Councillor. He currently resides in Barrhaven with his wife.
