Jamie Bramburger

Manager of Community and Student Affairs, Algonquin College

With over 30 years experience working in media, public relations and management, plus 21 years in higher education, Jamie is well-versed in all things communications. As the Manager of Community and Student Affairs at Algonquin College, Jamie prides himself on his inclusive approach that understands the needs and wants of individual Algonquin College students. 

In his previous roles he was knee deep in all things broadcast, having worked at CHNO/CJMX Radio, CHRO Radio, CHVR (STAR 96) Radio, and CHUM Television. Now, at Algonquin College he also volunteers as a freelance journalist and authored a regional best-selling book called ‘Go Kings Go! A century of PEMBROKE Lumber Kings hockey.’

When he’s not writing, Jamie enjoys using his leadership skills to encourage his colleagues to pursue success. He is a people person and looks forward to forming connections with people, not only in his college environment, but also in his greater community. He has been recognized with a Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration volunteer service award for 30 years of contributions to community television.  He has served on several boards and committees over his career including the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Pembroke and Area Physician Recruitment Committee, the Pembroke Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee and the Jason Blaine Charitable Fund committee which has raised more than $500,000 in the past six years for local causes in Renfrew County.

Jamie studied Broadcast Journalism at Canadore College and then completed various additional certificates in management and leadership post-graduation.
